The vision of Uniffect is to provide young spoken word artists and emcees with a creative space to develop their writing and performance skills, while utilizing this art form as a medium for raising public awareness about health related issues that are youth specific. The focus of the group is on inspiring and engaging young people between the ages of 15-21 through spoken word, while addressing and expressing health concerns that are relevant to them. Uniffect meets twice a month to learn how to use their voices and their words as a vehicle for positive social change. They also learn different business and marketing skills that are relevant to being a young artist, while exercising and strengthening their leadership skills through youth to youth mentoring and leading workshops.
